On behalf of the Staff and Board of Directors of Between Friends, I am thrilled to announce that Sandy T. Williams, MPA, MFT, ICDVP has been hired as the new Executive Director of Between Friends. Sandy will officially step into her role as Executive Director starting July 6, 2020.
Sandy comes to Between Friends from her position as Director of Domestic Violence Services at the YWCA Evanston North Shore, where she has provided leadership and management of the residential and community based domestic violence services since 2016. Sandy has a deep understanding of the interpersonal, social, and societal factors that contribute to domestic violence and strong relationships with other leaders in domestic violence, sexual assault, and other related fields. She has a sincere passion for working with vulnerable populations and strives, through her work, to enact practices that mitigate inequities for all. I can confidently speak for the entire Board of Directors in saying that we are very excited to welcome Sandy to the organization and we believe her skills and expertise will be incredible assets in her new role.
The agency continues to be managed by Shailushi Ritchie, our Interim Executive Director and a highly skilled senior leadership team. I am proud of all Between Friends’ staff in their dedication and focus on serving survivors of domestic violence, their families, and our communities in breaking the cycle of violence.
