Between Friends’ Young Professionals Group (YPG) is a volunteer network of young men and women dedicated to supporting Between Friends in breaking the cycle of domestic violence and abuse. Through our networking and social events, YPG helps increase domestic violence awareness, educate the community, and raise funds for Between Friends. They believe everyone is entitled to a life free of domestic violence regardless of socio-economic status, race, class, religion, culture or sexual orientation.

As a YPG member you can: meet other people with similar interests; develop your skills in marketing, advertising, special event planning and fundraising; and gain junior board experience.

YPG has benefitted Between Friends in a number of ways, including:

  • Raising almost $1,400 at Drinks through the Decades – a collaborative event with the Mid-America Club;
  • Volunteering for hundreds of hours each year for Between Friends’ events, legal clinic, and general office support;
  • Raising hundreds of dollars in gift cards for families to use during the holiday season;
  • Collecting toiletries and food items for Friends’ emergency pantry;
  • Selling hundreds of raffle tickets for the annual Bubble Ball event; and
  • Increasing awareness and involvement of young professionals in domestic violence issues through networking and fundraising events.

YPG meets on the evening of the second Wednesday of every month. Click here for a membership application. For more information on joining the YPG, please send an email to YPGbetweenfriends@hotmail.com.
